Mrs. Bertie H. Stanley, age 71, of Talking Rock, GA passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at her home.Mrs. Stanley was born on May 5, 1940 in Fannin County, GA to the late Grover Hughes and Daisey Long Hughes. She was a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Stanley and a grandson, Jacob Stanley.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob Stanley of Talking Rock; sons and daughter-in-law, James Stanley of Blue Ridge, and Mitchell and Teresa Stanley of Talking Rock; daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Dempsey Jumper, Jr. of Talking Rock and Anna and Daniel Hunnicutt of Blue Ridge; a daughter-in-law, Louise Stanley of Blue Ridge; sisters, Daisey Hyde of Resaca, GA and Ruby Stanley of Blue Ridge; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Mashburn and Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music will be by Roy Neal and Cindy Call. Pallbearers will be Jacob Ray, Seth Stanley, Nathan Hunicutt, Cameron Waler, Randy Hughes, and Daniel Hunnicutt. Interment will follow in Big Creek Church Cemetery.
