The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. James Arvel Allen, age 68, of Marietta, GA who passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 in the Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.He was born on April 29, 1943 in Fannin County, GA. James was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Harrison Allen and a brother, Emery Allen.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Irene Allen of Marietta, GA; sister, Mrs. Milbern J. Elliott of Canton, GA; nephew, Steve Allen Elliott and wife Bonnie of Kennesaw, GA; niece, Donna Golder and husband, Randy of Canton, GA; great nephew, Aaron Golder of Canton, GA; aunt, Dorothy Hedden of Ducktown, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Mr. Brian Rindt officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Elliott, Randy Golder, Wesley Payne, Jeff Payne and James Payne. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 18, 2011 after 12:00 noon. C
