Roy Jernigan : Obituary

Mr. Roy Rudolph Jernigan, age 81 of Riverdale, Georgia, passed away October 30, 2011 at his residence . Mr. Jernigan was born September 1, 1930 in Donalsonville, GA to the late Roy Gernigan and the late Ella Mae Williams Jernigan. He graduated from Georgia State University in 1959 with a degree in business administration. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro Rudy served in the US Army from July 15, 1955 to June 30, 1961. He retired Vice President of Kimper Inusrance in in Atlanta in 1991. Rudy loved gardening,

Rudy was preceded in death by father, Roy Jernigan, mother, Ella Mae Jernigan, wife, Marie Jernigan, son, Ernest (Butch) Jones, sister, Mayme Herring, sister, Julia Danford, Brother, Denver E. Jernigan, and niece, Barbara Co.

Survivors include: daughter and son in law, Sandra & Don Thompson, granddaughter, Marie Stokes, grandson, Timothy S. Jones, granddaughter, Jennifur Lynn Watkins, grandson, George (Mat) Mathews, granddaughter, Andrea Jones, nine great grandchildren, niece, Cathy Danford, daughter in law, Ginger Jones.

Funeral services: Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow inCrestlawn Cemetery .

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Thursday, October 06, 2011 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
