The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Martha Jean Dunn, age 80, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in the LifeCare Center in Ducktown, TN. Mrs. Dunn was born in McMinn County, TN on February 23, 1931 to the late Robert Wyatt and Lola Coffey Wyatt. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She was also active in several social and community clubs.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Dunn of Copperhill; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John Walton of Blue Ridge; sisters-in-law, Pearl Davidson of Paducah, KY and Catherine Dunn of Epworth, GA; and two grandchildren, David Walton of Atlanta and Sara Walton of Blue Ridge.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Bob Hoggard and Rev. Charles Howell officiating. Music will be by Imogene Stewart. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
