William Foster Jones III, age 81, of Morganton, GA passed away on October, 10, 2011 in Marietta, GA.He served his country in the United States Army as a combat veteran during the Korean War. Mr. Jones was a retired metallurgical engineer after having established a successful consulting firm, Consulting Metallurgical Services in Marietta, GA. Prior to living in Morganton, Mr. Jones resided in Cedartown, GA where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cedartown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Vogel Jones and a grandchild, Morgan Shirley.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Tim Kelley of Marietta, GA and Mary and Tommy Stewart of Roswell, GA; and three grandchildren, Mary C. Kelley, Thomas Kelley, and Will Shirley.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Chastain Memorial Park.
