The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels ruled Region 8-AA throughout the season, entering the tournament as the number one seed. However, the Lady Rebels Region Championship dreams were pilfered by the Panthers of Union County. The Panthers, who were swept by the Lady Rebels in the regular season, upset the host team in the first round with a 5-3 win. The Rebels placed third in the tournament and will travel to Dade County to take on the second place team from region 7-AA Wednesday, October 12th. The first two rounds of the tournament are the best of three series.
