Lois Hughes : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Lois Hughes, age 84, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011, in Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Blairsville on May 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Sherman Bridges and Lillie Collins Bridges. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Blairsville. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving family: her husband, Olin Hughes, of Young Harris; son, Cecil J. Hughes; daughter, Elouise Chastain; and son, Terry L. Hughes, all of Young Harris; sister, Charlene Griggs, of Blairsville; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many friends and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes have been scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Zebulon Baptist Church. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011, from the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.
