Joy B. Jenkins, age 66 of Postell, passed away September 18, 2011 at Copper Basin Medical Center.Mrs. Jenkins was born June 7, 1945 in Liberty, NC to the late Euclid and the late Bertha Price Bruce . She was a loving wife of almost 50 years, an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: husband, Rev. James W. Jenkins, son, James Dwayne Jenkins, daughter, Jennifer JoAnn (Alan) Deal, grandchildren, Jessica (Wesley) Corn, Jason (Leslie) Dean, Joshua Dean, great grandchildren, Raygan Corn, Lillie Dean, Addie Dean, sisters, Frances Dailey, Bobbie Garrett, Nellie McPherson and Jeanette Radford, Brothers, Don Bruce, Tim Bruce and Charles Bruce.
Funeral services: Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hayes officiating. Music provided by Shady Grove Church Choir, Jerry and Paul Wilson.. Interment will follow in the church cemetery . Pallbearers: Jason Dean, Joshua Dean, Jeff Bruce, Shan Bruce, Rayburn Mason and Clinton Ball. Honorary pallbearers: Steve Wilson, Logan Clonts and Wesley Corn.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm & Wednesday, September 21, 2011 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
