James Cecil Tatman, 82, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011.Mr. Tatman was a member of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris. He had a love for music and played the piano, organ and baritone horn. He had formerly been a member of the Wilmington City Marching Band. He also directed the Youth Choir at Sharp Memorial and taught the Agape Sunday School Class as well as being a Methodist Youth Fellowship Counselor. Mr. Tatman was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd fellows and the Sons of Union Veterans and was proud of his service as a Civil Defense Policeman during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Zillah Tatman, brother, Ira Addicks Tatman, Sr. and sisters, Elizabeth Tatman and Jane Bornshever.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Guinnetta Mixon Tatman of Blairsville, daughter and son in law, Rebecca and Kenneth Klase of Greensboro, NC and G. Cecile and Ian Harwood of Conyers, GA, sons, Lewis William Tatman and Robert Wesley Tatman, both of Blairsville, GA, brother and sister in law, John and Donna Tatman of Buena Park, CA, grandsons Jonathan(Jessica) Tatman, David(Lanay) Fonda, William Fonda, Christopher Tatman, Marietta Klase and Carrie Klase and great grandchildren, Keegan Tatman and Julianna Tatman.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. from Mt. Zion Campground Cemetery in Griffin, GA with Rev. Darris Baker officiating.
