Isaac Coleman Padgett : Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mr. Isaac Coleman Padgett, age 92, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Friday, August 19, 2011.Mr. Padgett was a son of the late Isaac Coleman and Emma Edith Poe Padgett. He was retired from the Tennessee Copper Company where he worked in the Acid Plant as a Crane Operator and in Security. He was a member of the Isabella Baptist Church where he served in several capacities including treasurer and deacon. He was a member of the American Legion and a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Jim, Gerald and Abe Padgett, sister, Frankie Harris and son-in-law, Buddy Suit.

He is survived by his loving wife whom he married January 24, 1942 and loved dearly for 69 years, Nellie Morgan Padgett of the home; sons, Rev. Don (Linda) Padgett of Isabella, TN, Ron (Linda) Padgett of Brevard, NC; sisters, Katherine Suit of McCaysville, GA, Colleene Mackey of Sherwood, NC; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 21st at 8:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Steve Ware, Rev. Don Padgett and Ron Padgett officiating. Music will be by Ed Vest. Pallbearers include, Eric Padgett, Chris Padgett, Andy Padgett, Shane Mackey, Jimmy Padgett and Rick Harper. Interment will follow Monday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Morgan Family cemetery in Springtown, TN.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 8:00 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Allen Uhlik and staff, all departments of the Copper Basin Medical Center and Life Care Center at Home.
