The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Michael James Millholland, age 42, of Morganton, GA who passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home.Mr. Millholland was born in Copperhill, TN on July 30, 1969. He was self-employed and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Millholland of Morganton; son, Dustin Millholland of Morganton; mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Bobby Jones; father and stepmother, James and Junell Millholland; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Matt Sutherland of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; stepsister and her husband, Tara and Brandon Hembree of Sugar Hill, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music will be by Linda and Ronald Hyde and Margaret Ferguson. Pallbearers will be Danny Davenport, Greg Wallace, Brian Dye, Eddy Beaver, Eric Allen, and Kenneth Allen, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Abercrombie, Darron Davenport, Eric Turner, Scott Rogers, Donnie Nicholson, Bo Abercrombie, Randy Abercrombie, Carol Smith and Tom Hooper. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
