Mrs. Myrtis Virginia “Bate” Boyer, age 98, of Blairsville, passed away August 6, 2011 at Union County Nursing Home. Mrs. Boyer was born March 15, 1913 in Lakeland, FL to the late Charles W. Bell and the late Naomi Booker Bell. She was a member of the West Flagler Baptist Church, Miami, FL. Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Boyer.
Survivors include: her daughter, Joan Chapman and son, James Boyer, both of Blairsville; a brother, James Donald Bell of Sebastian, FL; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services: Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Deaver and Rev. Fred Whitley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Tuesday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 12th at the Flagler Memorial Cemetery in Miami.
