The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Amos Dunn, age 87, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his home.Mr. Dunn was born on December 30, 1923 in Fannin County, GA to the late John Henry Dunn and Annie Payne Dunn. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He is survived by a niece, Bangel Norton and her husband Harrison Norton of Blue Ridge; sister, Lucy Allen of Mineral Bluff, GA; half-sister, Mary Ann Ware of Murphy, NC; and half-brother, Billy Dunn.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Ed O’Neal, Rev. Melvin O’Neal, and Rev. Thomas Payne officiating. Music will be by the Macedonia Church Singers. Pallbearers will be Danny Ensley, Kevin O’Neal, Danny Patterson, Paul Allen, Hoyt Payne, and Wesley Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Dunn’s nephews and great nephews, Ebbie O’Neal, Carl O’Neal, Daniel Shuler, and Newell O’Neal. Interment will follow in Patterson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
