Fannin Faithful Gather to See Lady Rebels Rise to College Ranks

Brooke Thomas and Cherish Evans will be taking their talents to the next level. Both players signed scholarships to play basketball on the collegiate level. Thomas will be playing for Stephanie Dunn, at Berry College, and Evans will be playing for Ben Jackson, at West Ga. Tech.Both programs expect the young ladies to contribute early at the point guard position.

Thomas has spoken with Coach Dunn about playing both the point and the shooting guard. She is not expected to red shirt her freshman year.

“She’s (Coach Dunn) talked to me about playing, (as a freshman)”

Thomas said.

Jackson spoke of Evans’ leadership ablitity as one of the main reasons for her recruitment. He will look for Evans to score from the guard position.

“I play an up tempo system, everybody scores,”

Jackson said. “

I’m going to make her score a lot more.”

The former Fannin Lady Rebels will each have her work cut out for her; however, the two are known to be hard working, intelligent, young ladies, so the future is expected to be bright.
