The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Calvin Coolidge Queen, age 87, of McCaysville, GA who passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011.Mr. Queen was born in Fannin County, GA, to the late William Wesley and Mary Bell Long Queen. He had worked in retail sales as a Clerk and Delivery Man at Hampton Hardware and Buttram Hardware Stores. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Queen; his first wife, Betty Brackett Queen; siblings, Maynard, Dave, Ruff, Wesley, Howard and Eugene Queen, Hazel Welch, Mamie Earley and Marie Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Workman Queen of the home; sons, Gene Queen of Nicholls, GA, Robert (Kelly) Queen of McCaysville, GA, Stephen (Karen) Queen of Epworth, GA; daughters, Margaret (Tony) Anderson of Epworth, GA, Denise (Roger) Godfrey of Jasper, GA; sister, Liz Patterson of Cisco, GA; twenty two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Minister Bill Johnston officiating. Music will be by the Hipps Chapel Choir. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Mobile cemetery.
