Seth Lynn Ford of North Palm Beach, Florida, passed away June 10, 2011, at age 85, surrounded by his family.He was born in the mountain town of Constant Springs, Jamaica on November 22, 1925, to Paul and Ollie Ford. He was the last living member of his immediate family of two brothers and three sisters. Seth was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and served in both World War II and the Korean War. He owned and operated Seth Ford Carpets in Lake Park, Florida, with his family from 1967 until his retirement in 1987. His love for the mountains inspired him to build a home in Hiawassee, Georgia on Lake Chatuge, where he spent many happy summers with his family. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, games with the family and of course, bowling. He was especially fond of his little dog, Sparky.
Seth is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alyce; four children: Daniel & Mary of Jupiter, Florida, Carol Marok of Atlanta, Georgia, David & Jennifer of Hayesville, North Carolina, and Dr. Eileen Farwick & Dave of Windermere, Florida. Seth was predeceased by his oldest son, Gregory L. Ford, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Family includes thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held with military honors at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Laurel Hills Memorial Garden in Hiawassee. His Faith and Love will live on in those he has touched. His soul is with God, but his memories are with us. We love you! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Palm Beach County
