The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Mabel Josephine Weaver, age 94, of Ellijay, Ga. who passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the Gilmer County Nursing Home in Ellijay, Ga.Mrs. Weaver was born on August 24, 1916 in Fannin County, Ga. to the late Oscar Mitchell and Josephine Weeks Mitchell. She was a floral designer for Resthaven Florist. Mrs. Weaver was the oldest living member of Williamstown United Methodist Church. She taught school at Mt. Moriah School, a former member of O.E.S., a member of United Methodist Women, enjoyed stamp collection, and was very active in many hobbies and activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Leon Weaver and an infant daughter, Talitha Weaver.

She is survived by son, Ted Weaver of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Jim Mullinax of Ellijay; sister-in-law, Ellaine Ward of Blue Ridge; four grandchildren, James Mullinax, Jody Mullinax, Jack Mullinax, and Mike Weaver; and four great grandchildren, Matt Weaver, Haley Weaver, Emily Mullinax, and Ashly Mullinax.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Frank Fisher officiating. Music will be by Patsy Beaver and Joyce Panter. Pallbearers will be Jamie Mullinax, Jody Mullinax, Jake Mullinax, and Matt Weaver. Graveside services will follow in Harmony Cemetery with Rev. James Mitchell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Mrs. Weaver may be made to Williamstown UMC Building Fund, 37 Williamstown Road, Mineral Bluff, Ga. 30559.
