The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Mildred Tipton Ledford, age 86, of Epworth, GA who passed away Friday, May 06, 2011 in the Life Care Center in Ducktown, TN.
Mrs. Ledford was born in Fannin County, GA on July 31, 1924 to the late Charles Burton Tipton and Nola Louella Leatherwood Tipton. She was a very active member of Mobile Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Ledford; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Ann Ledford of Copperhill, TN; daughter, Jackie and the late Frank Gilliam of Smyrna, GA; sister, Dot Hardeman of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren, Frank Gilliam, Jr., Nicholas Gilliam, Tommy James Ledford, Jr., and Jeffrey Burton Ledford; and great grandchildren, Wallace Jackson Ledford, Jessica Conner Ledford, Thomas Daniel Ledford, Brady Matthew Gilliam, Andrew Carson Gilliam, and Reece Olivia Gilliam.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Pallbearers will be Frank Gilliam, Jr., Nicholas Gilliam, Tommy James Ledford, Jr., Jeffrey Burton Ledford, Wallace Jackson Ledford, and Joseph Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Thurman, Buck Barclay, Bobby Dills, Paul Hunter, and Steve McDaniel. Interment will follow in Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
