Mr. Emerson Claude Rogers age 88 of Turtletown passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 in Cleveland, TN. Mr. Rogers was born November 12, 1922 to the late Robert N. Rogers and Mrs. Eula McDowell Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy Reid Rogers, brothers, Hoyt L. Rogers, Calvin “Jay” Rogers and sister, Mildred Leonard
Mr. Rogers was an avid bear hunter. A member of the Masonic Lodge of Ducktown for 50 plus years and loved his Grand and Great-Grandchildren.
Survivors include Son, Emerson C. Rogers Jr., Daughter, Barbara Sparacino, daughter Caroyl Rogers, brother, Charles Rogers, sister Evelyn West and sister, Opal Bobo. 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 8, 2011 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday May 9, 2011 at 11:00AM from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Hall officiating. Internment will follow at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Loring Rogers, Eric Rogers, Roger Ross, Ricky Wright, Charles Tyer and Damian Everett.
