The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Roger Barry Panter, age 55, of McCaysville, GA who passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, TN.He was born on October 22, 1955 in Fannin County, GA to the late Herbert K. and Joan Orton Panter. Roger was employed in timber harvesting. He was of the Church of God Faith. Roger was preceded in death by a sibling, Dale Panter.

Survivors include daughter, Ivy Panter of McCaysville, GA; siblings, Larry Panter of Copperhill, TN, Darla Patterson of Jackson, GA, Marla Walker of Jackson, TN, Denny Panter of Ellijay, GA and Misti Housley of Habersham County, GA; sister-in-law, Joy Panter; several nieces; nephews and other friends survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Jeff Key officiating. Music will be by Janice Reid. Pallbearers will be nephews. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Airport Road, Copperhill,TN.
