Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Belle “Billie” Jones, 85, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, Georgia.“Billie” was born in Providence, Kentucky, on August 31, 1925, a daughter of the late Volney Head and Flora Lane Head. She was a homemaker and a member of Young Cane Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Slim” Jones; her daughter, Sandra Murphy; her parents, Volney and Flora Lane Head; grandchildren Craig Jones and Josh Jones; brothers and sisters: Carl Head, Hershel Head, Robert Head, Geneva Lee, John Roy Head, James Arnold Head.

Mrs. Jones will be especially missed by family members: son and daughter-in-law, Ranny and Claudia Jones, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Shelia Jones, of Blairsville; brothers: Harold Ray Head, of Southgate, Michigan; Rex Lane Head, of Lucedale, Mississippi; Kenneth Gaylon Head, of Flat Rock, Michigan; and sister, Shirley Omega Pridemore, of Zephyrhills, Florida; four grandchildren: Audra Brys, Shannon Jones, Travis Jones, and Joey Jones; great grandchildren: Craig Jones, Ashley Jones, Austin Brys, Cole Jones, Libby Jones, Tyler Jones, and Samantha Jones and Jozie Jones.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, January 28, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. William Sisum, Rev. Terrell Jones, and Rev. Randolph Jones officiating. Special music will be presented by Howard and Sutin Brys, and Casey Jones. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Shannon Jones, Travis Jones, Joey Jones, Kenny Head, Jamie Lunsford, and Craig Jones. Serving as honorary escort to the family will be Chad Sisum and Scott Sisum. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Georgia. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.
