The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels’ softball season came to a close in the second round of the state playoffs. The second seeded Lady Rebels traveled to Jackson County to take on the first seeded Lady Panthers in a best of three series. Lady Rebels Vex Vikings with 4-0 Shutout Victory on “Senior Night”

“Pink Out” Shut Out

The Fannin High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Lady Spartans of West Hall for the annual “Pink Out” cancer awareness game. The Lady Rebels shut out the Lady Spartans 8-0 after a brief ceremony to honor those who have been touched by cancer. Barbara King, a teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School and cancer survivor, threw out the first pitch. (more…)

Five from Fannin in State Track Meet

The Fannin County High School track and field Rebels will send five participates to the State Track Meet, four girls and one boy. Only those competitors, who placed in the top eight at the Sectionals meets, are allowed to continue on to the State meet. (more…)

Six Softball Players Make All-Region Team for the Lady Rebels

The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team’s unprecedented success, which ended in a trip to the “Elite Eight in Columbus, produced six players that made the 8AA All Region Team. Infielder Alexis Collis and outfielder Candace “Blitzkrieg” German made first team. Pitcher Mercedes “Sadie” Golden, infielders Karly Thompson and Missy Dixon, and outfielder Natalie McLaughlin made the second team. Lady Rebels Ride to Dade County: Declaw Lady Wolverines 2-1

The Lady Rebels softball team of Fannin County High School took the long rode to Dade County, in order to take on the Lady Wolverines. Fannin’s furor proved to be to much as the Lady Rebels won games one and three to take the series and advance to the second round of the playoffs. Fannin will host Lovett on Wednesday October 19th. Rebels Rise Over Union: Panthers Pounded 6-0 With FYN’s Exclusive Video of Pregame Ceremony

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Panthers of Union County, and pounded the Panthers with a plethora of timely hits and strike outs to secure a 6-0 victory. The game was noteworthy for more than just the win by the home team. The day was commemorated as Cancer Awareness day, which involved the members of the Lady Rebels’ team honoring those who have battled cancer. (more…)
