The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams traveled to West Hall to take on the Lady Spartans and Spartans. Both Rebels teams encountered road woes, as the Lady Rebels lost by four, 40-36 and the Rebels were routed 48-30. [Read more »]

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels Basketball teams traveled to Copper Basin to take on the Lady Cougars and Cougars. Both teams were successful with, the Lady Rebels running roughshod over the Lady Cougars, winning 57-37, and the Rebels posting a dramatic come from behind, four point, 60-56 win. The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels’ and Rebels’ basketball teams hosted the Lady Warriors and Warriors of White County. The Lady Rebels emerged victorious, battling to a 47-44 win. The Rebels were not nearly as fortunate, as Fannin fell 53-23 in the boys’ game [Read more »] 

Coach Scott Eggleston, the new head coach of the Fannin Rebels boys’ basketball team took a few minutes to talk with FYN about his coaching career and the future of boy’s basketball at Fannin County High School. Eggleston will be entering his 30th year in the coaching profession, 11 years as a college assistant and 19 as a high school coach. The Iowa native will be taken over the basketball program, after local legend, Johnny Farmer, retired. [Read more »]

The Fannin County Rebels' hosted the Camp of Champions basketball camp for youngsters between the second and ninth grades. The camp ran by Suzianne Pass, head coach of the Lady Rebels, and Scott Eggelston, the newly appointed head coach of the Rebels boys' basketball team. The campers were taught fundamental basketball skills such as: shooting; passing; defensive stances and positions. The campers were broken up into two groups. Those between the second and fifth grade attending the morning sessions, while the sixth trough ninth graders attended the afternoon sessions.
