Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” the third and final installment in the Dark Knight Trilogy; which is either the first or second most anticipated movie of the summer, Marvel’s “The Avengers” being the obvious other choice. Nolan definitely delivers a clear-cut concise conclusion to the trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and was highly impressed. [Read more »]

Yes I did go to the midnight showing of “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Yes I do watch “Once Upon a Time.” And yes, I’m not ashamed of it, though some might say that I should be. However, this is a movie review, and I must say that I was not snowed under by “Snow White and the Huntsman.” I’d have to give it a B-. It’s okay, nothing to write home about. Great date movie, especially for the pimple popping crowd, but much more a rental/it came on television movie. It’s no, “Once Upon a Time,” I can guarantee that. [Read more »] 

Nerd night was not missed last week with the opening of “Battleship.” There was a meeting and the "nerdcensus" was that “Battleship” wasn’t worth the money, especially since most of us have seen “The Avengers” at least twice. However, Nerd Night recommenced with Men in Black 3, despite the normal nerd headquarters being busy with a two backed beast battle of Shakespearean proportions. [Read more »]

While the cinematic adventures of “LT and the Nerds” have not become, to quote Barney Stinson, “Legend, wait for it, Dary!” like the music of “Eddie and the Cruisers” (the under 30 crowd just ask your parents or Google it), they have become somewhat of a tradition. Therefore it is no secret that the biggest event in nerdom since the invention of pocket protectors and “Comic Con,” “The Avengers,” movie would have to be seen by us, and reviewed by me. There are no cliché movie descriptions that could do this move justice, in a good way, so I will describe it using the word that has come to mind the most since leaving the theater in the wee hours of the morning, AWESOME!!!! The Fannin County High School track and field Rebels will send five participates to the State Track Meet, four girls and one boy. Only those competitors, who placed in the top eight at the Sectionals meets, are allowed to continue on to the State meet. [Read more »] 

The Fannin County Fire Department held a training class on putting out propane fires. Folger Gas donated 233.5 gallons of propane gas, in order for the 20 fire fighters, 14 rookies, to complete the training class. Hank Hill was unavailable for comment. [Read more »]
