Fannin County High Schools Lady Rebels and Rebels’ basketball teams traveled to Gilmer County, for contests versus the Lady Bobcats and Bobcats of Gilmer High School. The teams went 0-2 on the day, as the Lady Rebels came up three points short, 41-38, and the Rebels were thoroughly dismantled 74-39. [Read more »]

The Fannin High School Rebels and Lady Rebels basketball teams traveled to Cass High School in Cartersville to take on the Colonels. The teams split victories, with the Lady Rebels posting a 12 point 56-44 win. The Rebels’ boys’ squad did not fair as well, as Fannin fell 62-24. [Read more »]

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team hosted the first dual meets of the season, and of new head coach, Joshua Snider’s career. The Rebels were able to split 1-1, as Fannin fell to Gainesville, 42-33 in the first match of the day; however, Fannin bounced back, as the Rebels rose over Murphy 42-39. [Read more »]

Fannin County High School senior softball player, Alexis Collis, signed her letter of intent with The Illustrious Kennesaw State University, where she will become a member of the Hootie Hoo nation. Coach Scott Eggleston, the new head coach of the Fannin Rebels boys’ basketball team took a few minutes to talk with FYN about his coaching career and the future of boy’s basketball at Fannin County High School. Eggleston will be entering his 30th year in the coaching profession, 11 years as a college assistant and 19 as a high school coach. The Iowa native will be taken over the basketball program, after local legend, Johnny Farmer, retired. [Read more »]

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team traveled to Union County to take on the Panthers. Fannin failed to rise against its northern Union neighbors, as Fannin fell 30-15. The Rebels were without star running back, Peyton Satterfield, and lost starting quarterback, Trevor Stone, for a few plays due to an ankle injury acquired while making an interception on defense.
