The Fannin Rebels’ football season came to a close at home on “Senior Night.” The Rebels honored all the senior football players, cheerleaders, and band members in a brief ceremony before the game. Fannin then faced the Vikings of East Hall. The Vikings rampaged through the Rebels’ home, leaving with a 34-0 Vikings’ victory.
The Rebels’ night began with an E. Hall 76 yard touchdown run a mere 18 seconds into the game. Fannin, facing a 7-0 deficit, began its offensive series with a pitch left to Peyton Satterfield. The Rebel rumbled for 13 yards and the first Fannin first down of the night.
The Rebels later converted a fourth down and four with a 12 yard run from Satterfield that set up first and 10 on the E. Hall 43 yard line. Two plays later, on second and four, the Rebels used a bit of “trickeration” as Satterfield completed a 21 yard pass to Noah O’Neal that gave Fannin a first down on the E. Hall 21.
Despite the good field position, the Rebels could not take advantage, as an E. Hall defensive stop on fourth and goal forced a Fannin turnover on downs.
The Vikings promptly marched the 95 yards to the end zone in five plays; with the last being an 18 yard touchdown pass. With 2:52 left in the first quarter, the Vikings led 14-0.
On the ensuing drive, the Rebels picked up a first down on fourth down with a Jarod Petty run; however the drive stalled after a holding call put the Rebels in third and long, and Fannin failed to convert.
The Vikings took over on the 50 after the punt. Three plays later, the Vikings led 21-0, with just under seven minutes left in the first half. Neither team scored again throughout the first half of play.
E. Hall scored twice more in the second half, on a 16 yard run and a 55 yard pass. Fannin failed to find the end zone, and ends the season with the 34-0 loss to the Vikings.
