Saturday was a perfect day for spring baseball as the Fannin Rebels hosted the Dawson Tigers for three games. A JV doubleheader and one varsity game. The Rebels JV squad split the doubleheader losing the first game 5-3, and coming back to win the second game 8-4. For the varsity starting pitcher, Will Shirah also became the winning pitcher. Shirah pitched four full innings throwing 75 pitches and leaving the game up 8-2. The Rebel held on for an 8-4 victory.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) was in Canton, Georgia this past Saturday campaigning for David Perdue. Senator Cruz is well known on a national level and is a Tea Party favorite.
With only days left in the Georgia Senate race, Cruz made a run through the state firing up the base and encouraging them to get out the vote. Real Clear Politic’s recent poll has (D) Nunn at 45.5% (R) Perdue 45.2% and (L) Swafford 3.8%. [Read more »]
