Mr. Nathaniel Lewis “N.L.” Prather, age 95, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care Center in Blue Ridge, GA.Mr. Prather was born on July 9, 1919 in Tate, GA. N.L graduated from the Southern School of Pharmacy at Mercer University, with a Pharm.D.degree. He was a registered pharmacist for fifty years and owned and operated the Blue Ridge Rexall. He was a member of Blue Ridge First Baptist Church and also served on the Finance Committee. He was a member of Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club,and the VFW. He was a former mayor of Blue Ridge and former board member of Fannin County Bank, served as chairman and board member of the Blue Ridge Child Development Center. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in WWII in the 96th Evacuation Hospital as Head Pharmacist of his unit.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Layne Prather of Blue Ridge; and grandchildren, Whitney Prather Hall and her husband Mark Hall of Smyrna, GA and Garrett Prather of Acworth.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Blue Ridge First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. Music will be by Brian Huffman and Debbie Jones. Pallbearers will be Tim Mercier, Bill Walden, Jim Ezell, Larry Dyer, Don Hall, and Steve Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Eaton, Dale Dyer, Morris Verner, Jack Roof, and the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park with military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fannin County Scholarship Foundation at www.fanninschlorship.com or P.O. Box 1883 Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
