Andrews Woman Arrested for Drugs

Murphy, NC— Cherokee County Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the March 07th, 2015 arrest of Tiffani Megan Buchanan, a 31 year old Andrews North Carolina woman on drug charges.
On March 7th, 2015 Buchanan was stopped for a traffic violation in the Peachtree Community of Cherokee County. The stop was made by a North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper who called for an additional officer to assist in the search of the vehicle that Buchanan was operating. When the Cherokee County Deputy arrived while assisting in the search of the vehicle controlled substances believed to be Morphine were found.

Additionally, needles and spoons used to inject the Morphine were found. While running a wants and warrants check a warrant from Clay County was confirmed.

Buchanan was brought to the Cherokee County Detention Center where she was released on a $1,500.00 Unsecure Bond. Buchanan is scheduled to appear in Cherokee County District Court on April 07th, 2015.

Sheriff Palmer stated “This case shows the cooperative effort we are continuing with all law enforcement agencies in Cherokee County. Working together even on the smaller cases helps us to chisel away at this mountainous problem of drug use and abuse in Cherokee County.”
