Mr. Clyde Evertte Bailey, Jr., age 88, of Cashes Valley Road Cherry Log, GA passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the Copper Basin Medical Center if Copperhill, TN. Mr. Bailey was born on August 3, 1926 in Atlanta, GA to the late Clyde E. Bailey, Sr. and Willie Parker Bailey. He was a devout Christian, being a member of First Baptist Church of Epworth. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Bailey was a wonderful family man who possessed the unique talent of being able to do anything concerning machines, building, or automobiles. He worked for AMC/Chrysler for 33 years in the zone office in Atlanta performing numerous jobs and becoming distribution manager. When he retired in 1982, he moved to Blue Ridge to a home he and his wife of 67 years built. He worked in the establishment of Mountain Valley Motors and then for Mason Tractor for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anne T. Bailey of the home; son, Joel Eric Bailey of Morganton and daughter, Lisa Murphy of Jackson, GA; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; brother, Ray and wife Mickey of St. Mary’s, GA; sisters-in-law, Martha Dinos of Atlanta and Nita Bailey of Colmbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the First Baptist Church Epwoth, GA with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Dr. Chan Mitchell officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Doug Simonds and Tammy Mason. Pallbearers will be Bill Mason, Chan Mitchell, Junior Mason, Brad Rose, John Fisher and Jon Paul Nation. Members of Mr. Bailey’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church Epworth Cemetery with full military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Mr. Bailey may be made to the First Baptist Church Epworth Mission Program P.O.
