Sources of Strength Promote Positive Mental Health

Rebel's Corner

Sources of Strength, a group on Fannin High’s Campus charged with promoting positive mental health and preventing suicide, gave stress balls and tips to prevent test anxiety to all students and staff on review day, Wednesday December 17, as students embarked on final exams.
Sources of Strength hopes you find the stress ball helpful as you approach final exams and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Merry Christmas from your friends at Sources of Strength!
Managing Test Anxiety
• Always be prepared – Always keep good study habits
• Develop good test taking skills – Read all directions carefully. You should answer questions you know first and go back to the ones you aren’t so sure of.
• Keep a positive attitude – Don’t let past test grades get you down! Also, remember that your self-worth is not defined by your test grade. Always have confidence and reward yourself for doing well.
• Stay focused – concentrate only on your exam.
• Practice relaxation techniques – take deep, slow breaths, and consciously relax your muscles, one at a time.
• Stay healthy – get enough sleep, eat the right foods, exercise and allow yourself some personal time.
• Visit your counseling center.
