From the Fannin County High School FFA:Two Fannin County High School FFA members competed in the FFA Area 1 Floral Design Career Development Event on October 21 at Cass High School in Cartersville. Montana Pearson competed in the senior level division where she had to design 2 floral arrangements; identify flowers, foliage, and tools used in the floral industry; and take a floriculture exam. Montana placed 6th out of 24 contestants . Daisy Stepp competed in the junior division where she had to design two floral arrangements, Daisy placed 2nd out of 23 contestants and earned the right to compete in the State Floral Design Career Development Event to be held later this year at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College(ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia.

Fannin County High School FFA member Cody O’Neal competed in the Area 1 Tractor Operation and Maintenance Career Development Event on September 23 at Taylor Farm in Cartersville. Cody placed 4th out of 25 contestants. He was required to take a written exam over operation, safety, and maintenance; complete a problem solving activity; perform a pre warm up check list; and operate a tractor with an implement attached through a timed course. Cody is a senior at FCHS.
