Rebels Route Indians: Mush Armuchee 35-0

The Fannin County Rebels move to 2-0 at home after facing the Indians of Armuchee this past Friday. The “Boys in Blue” continued their winning streak in dominant fashion with a 35-0 victory.The game start with the Indians receiving the kick off. Jarod Petty and the rest of the defense forced the Indians into to a huge hole on offense of fourth and 16 on the first possession.

The Rebels started with fantastic field position but came up short when Brad Davis’ pass was picked off by the Indians. After a hold by the defense, Fannin got to work at midfield, with Davis finding Cody Jacobs for a 20 plus yard pass play to but the Rebels in the red zone.

Hunter O’Neal who missed last weeks big victory, was in for the Rebels. O’Neal pushed the ball down to the goal line allowing a hurdling Tyler Beaver to find the end zone to put the Rebels up 7-0 with 3 minutes left in the first.

After a quick three and out by the Indians, Beaver showed up with a 20 yard run followed by a 32 yard pass to Copper Earls to put the Rebels in a first and goal situation.

Davis would find Beaver in the end zone but a flag made the nine yard touchdown pointless. After another penalty flag, the “Boys in Blue” faced a first and goal from the 30.

Davis eventually found Jacobs in the end zone with 11 minutes left in the 2nd to put the Rebels up 14-0.

The Indians found themselves in more trouble after Jack Roper picked off a pass setting up a Fannin County 40 yard TD putting the Rebels up 21-0. Roper caused more trouble picking off the Indians on the next drive.

Fannin would not be able to convert on the second Roper interception leaving a halftime score of 21-0.

Beaver opened the second half up in Rebel fashion with 52 yard rush to the two yard line. Jacobs finished off the drive with a 2 yard TD rush to put the Rebels up 28-0 just moments into the 3rd quarter.

Fannin got the crowd fired up with a double reverse half back pass that was completed for 72 yards; however, it was called back by a costly penalty. Beaver found the end zone one more time to finish off the game with a 50 yard TD pass from Davis. The pass came with 3 mins in the 3rd to put the score at 35-0.

Davis completed 15 of 19 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns. Beaver led the Rebels with 10 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown, he also added two touchdowns on the ground, finishing with 68 of the Rebels 235 rushing yards.

Defensively Petty led with 12 tackles followed closely by Roper (9), and Dakota Queen (8). Roper procured both the Rebels interceptions.

Fannin looks to continue to win streak as the Rebels will head up 515 to take on the Panthers of Union. Union looks to be a tough opponent as the Panthers have a nationally ranked QB.
