Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Louise Kelley DeLong, age 78, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.Louise was born in Blairsville, on July 16, 1935, a daughter of the late William Edge Kelley and the late Myrtle Mae Walker Kelley. Louise had worked as an EMT for Union General Hospital in Blairsville for many years, and she was a member of The House of Prayer Interdenominational Church in Blairsville. Besides her parents, Louise had been preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Burrell; a sister, Maudell Kelley, who passed away on May 31, 2014, and a sister, Elizabeth Helton; and a brother, Rev. Wofford Kelley.

Louise leaves behind her loving family members to carry on her legacy: her husband of 45 years, Ron DeLong, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Deborah Burrell; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Eddy Spiva; son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Stacy Burrell; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Sam Chapman; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and David Chatham; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Phil Chapman, all of Blairsville; step-son, Shane O’Leary, of New Zealand; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Pat Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Linda Kelley; and sister-in-law, Sarah Kelley, all of Blairsville. Two special friends, Betty Jean Hooper and Liz Garrett; Thirteen Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Louise and Maudell have both been scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at The House of Prayer Interdenominational Church in Blairsville, with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by The House of Prayer Church Choir and Billy Garrett. Serving as pallbearers will be Louise’s grandsons and Maudell’s nephews: Jackson Burrell, Chase Burrell, Ben Chapman, Bret Chatham, Ernie Chapman, and Chad Spiva. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blairsville.

Visitation for Louise and Maudell will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at The House of Prayer Interdenominational Church in Blairsville, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
