BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER

The old adage goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. This was proven true with the photo of David Ralston, Nathan Deal, and their “extensive entourage” on “the picturesque banks of the Coosawattee River here in House District 7” last week. Two terminally ethically challenged individuals literally teaming up to fight for their politically enriched lives. Nathan Deal was somehow elected governor of our state with enough baggage to stall a freight train. He supposedly put his entire negative net worth into a blind trust as a trick of some kind that would amaze even Houdini. The blind trust trick is amazing because quicker than you can say Abracadabra, Nathan Deal has moved from the brink of bankruptcy to multi- millionaire status on a governors salary of $139,339. A political person with a similar defective moral compass as these two once said to me – “My salary is not very good, but the perks and fringe benefits are outta sight.” As I said in an earlier article: SITUATIONS DO NOT MAKE THE MAN – SITUATIONS REVEAL THE MAN. These two individual use their positions of power to feather their own nests on the taxpayer’s nickel.

David Ralston has taken several oaths in his life, and he has broken all the big ones. He took an oath, in front of God and everybody present at their wedding, to honor his wife until death do them part. He took an Oath of Admission to the State Bar of Georgia to truly, honestly, justly, and uprightly conduct himself as a member of his learned profession. He took an oath as Speaker of the House in front of every citizen in Georgia to serve their best interests and the best interests of the state. Obviously, oaths mean nothing to him. David Ralston was quoted in Jim Galloway’s AJC Political Insider column as follow; “I’m not a knight in shining armor. I am the other guy. And I’m kind of proud of being the other guy. I’m not perfect. I get up every day and work hard.” In a weak moment David Ralston spoke the truth. He simply stopped short. In this moment of truth, he should have added, “I get up early and work hard because enriching myself, my cronies, and those who put hundreds of thousands of dollars into my campaign fund requires a herculean effort on my part. It is not an easy task either to whip the 179 other members of the House into following my orders and then force them to act like they enjoy my harsh style of dictatorship.”

Nathan Deal and David Ralston appear concerned enough about holding onto their lucrative positions that they decided to circle the wagons in Ellijay for the Gun Bill signing ceremony. Every House Representative with an opponent would have loved to have had Nathan Deal come to their district. Every taxpayer in Georgia wishes he had stayed at the Capitol. These two cowboys know full well how many voters are also active and vocal gun owners. They used this occasion as a photo op for both their campaigns. It was a pathetic display of how out of touch these two power brokers are with the citizens of this state and particularly the citizens of District 7. The 7th District has been hit hard with the worst economic collapse in the history of this country. The last thing they want to see is Nathan Deal fly directly to the charade scene in a Bell 407 Jet helicopter ( one of seven $2.5 million dollar [if new] state owned helicopters). I was not there, but I would guess Nathan Deal would not want to crowd his helicopter with the mere underlings he brought along. Was there more than two helicopters used? At the shindig for the University of Georgia’s new president (who Nathan Deal said he handpicked – more on that at a later date), a by-stander at the Athens airport said Nathan Deal showed up in one Bell 407 helicopter, David Ralston showed up in another, and a third state helicopter with unidentified persons on board joined the parade of power. Nathan Deal and David Ralston are so used to spending other people’s money with no regard that money came from hard working Georgian’s pay checks. We have a grand opportunity to give these moochers a dose of reality when it comes to “earning” a living instead of fine dining at the government trough – we can vote them out now.

I think the voters of the 7th District and the voters in all of Georgia need to understand the motivation for me, personally, to get involved in the political theater in Georgia. My motivation is very simple. I love my country with all my heart and soul. As an officer in the United States Air Force, I offered my life in its defense. I took an oath (an oath once taken must live for a lifetime) to protect and defend my country from all enemies foreign and domestic. I never in my worst nightmare scenario thought that I would feel duty bound to defend my country (our country) from a domestic threat. Sadly, that is where we the people find ourselves today. We have put individuals in office, and left them there – individuals who never deserved to be elected in the first place. We the people are the true guilty parties. We created this mess, and we are the only ones who can fix it. I am on a crusade to Save Georgia and Save America. I cannot do this by myself. I can only hope that I can start a fire in my fellow Georgians to Save Georgia first. If we cannot Save Georgia, we cannot Save America.

Electing Sam Snider and David Pennington would be a gigantic step forward in Saving Georgia. David Pennington and Sam Snider love this state. They have no agenda for themselves beyond coming forward at this critical juncture to help Save Georgia. David Pennington will not just be a good governor. He will be an outstanding governor. I predict David Pennington will go down in history as the best governor of Georgia in our history. He has all the attributes to turn Georgia around and do it quickly. David Pennington’s biggest problem is name recognition. When you seek the answer to the question, “Who is David Pennington?” you will immediately become an avid supporter. Please do that before May 20 to benefit yourself, your family, your children’s’ children, and all who come later who expect us to pass on the torch of freedom and opportunity which was “given on a silver platter” to our generation.

Sam Snider does not have a name recognition problem in the 7th District. Most folks know him well enough to know he is a truly “good man”. In the south, being called a truly good man is high praise indeed. Coach Snider will set an example for other good men and women to step forward to help Save Georgia by offering themselves for public service at every level of government as we begin the process to clean up the mess that professional “lifer” politicians have made of our state and our country.

David Ralston and Nathan Deal are the cancer. Sam Snider and David Pennington are the cure. We, the voters, are the doctor who can administer the cure to eliminate the cancer – to Save Georgia.
