Rosie Panther Watkins Trantham, 90 of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home. Born in Peachtree, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Panther and Alice Lemon. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Watkins and Luther Elmer Trantham.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Coye and Betty Watkins of Tunnel Hill, GA, C.L. and Bea Watkins of Mineral Bluff, GA, Harold and Becky Watkins of Mineral Bluff, GA and Mike and Alice Watkins of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jerry Bowers of Blue Ridge, GA, Gearldine and Lemont Womac of Tunnel Hill, GA, Kathy and Cecil Payne of Mineral Bluff, GA and Mary and Randy Newberry of Ellijay, GA; brothers, Eugene Silvers of Waynesville, NC and Charles Silvers of Knoxville, TN, sisters, Betty Bush of Waynesville, NC and Joyce Silvers of Waynesville, NC; sister-in-law, Lois Panther of Turtletown, TN; 27 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hayes and Rev. Michael Watkins officiating. Music will be provided by Melinda Walker and Melissa Hicks. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Watkins, Darrell Watkins, Joe Watkins, Andy Newberry, Billy Taylor and Jeremiah Chapman. The remaining grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Cemetery.

Friends may call the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 but the family will especially meet with friends from 5:00-9:00 P.M.
