Lady Wolves Lick Chops: Sweep Series with Lady Rebels

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team lost the season series to the Lady Wolves of Buford with a 9-5 defeat at home that gave the Lady Wolves the 2-0 season sweep.Buford bit early, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. Rebel land was raucous in the bottom of the third, when lead-off batter, Josie Milsaps, hit a home run, on a 2-2 pitch to cut the deficit to two, however, no more runs scored in the inning.

Buford’s run in the top of third put the Lady Wolves back on top by three, 4-1; however, the home team tied the game up going into the fourth with three runs scored in the bottom of the third.

Buford added two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead, and added another in the top of the fifth to push the lead to three.

Fannin added one more run in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 7-5 game, but could not overcome the two more Buford runs in the top of the sixth, falling 9-5.
