J.C. Wood Receives Top Level Recognition and Appreciation Award from National American Legion Commander.
Past Commander J.C. Wood of Clancy-Harper-Styles American Legion Post 248, Blue Ridge, GA, is presented the Certificate of Appreciation award by Post Commander Richard Crosley. The Certificate of Appreciation was received from James E. “Jim” Koutz, National Commander of the American Legion, for his outstanding membership performance in 2012-2013 by exceeding 100% of the Districts Membership Goal. This made District 9 (which includes Blue Ridge, GA) the #1 Department of Georgia District. National Commander Koutz congratulated and thanked Commander Wood for his continuing support of the programs and activities of The American Legion. Citing to Wood that this is a testimonial of his personal gratitude The American Legion National Commander further stated to Wood, “This is an example you are Still Serving America”.
This prestigious award is only presented when a post successfully accomplishes 100 percent of its annual membership goal for the 2013 membership year. This award is a sure sign that the Post Commander’s leadership and member involvement are proudly serving veterans and that the Post Commander appreciate the value of membership. The American Legion strongly believes that an effective membership program within each post is vitally important to the programs that are performed by the post to ensure they are able to serve the community.
Past-Commander J.C. Wood has proudly served as Commander of the Blue Ridge American Legion Post 248 for over the past 20 years. Wood is now 2013-2014 9th District Jr.-Vice Commander Officer.
