Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. Keith Parker Foster, age 74, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Friday, May 24, 2013.

Mr. Foster was born on February 20, 1939 in Blairsville to the late Lewis Parker & Willie Marie Galloway Foster. He was a man of strong faith in the Lord and served as deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. After suffering a series of health problems, Keith used those to increase his faith. With dedication, Keith retired with over 30 years working for Atlantic Steel. The world has never know a better Atlanta Braves or Falcons fan. Keith enjoyed life and laughter, never missing a good joke. He liked to hunt, fish and raise vegetable gardens eating the fruits of those labors. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Clara Bell Sparks Foster; his parents; and siblings, Kermit, Kenneth, Carmen, Cella and Evelyn Foster.

Keith will be remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: son, Keith Foster Jr.; sister, Regina Patterson; brother & sister-in-law, Keiter & Betty Foster; sister & brother-in-law, Reba & Marcus Sosebee; brother & sister-in-law, Kendell & Frances Foster; sister Renette Foster; and sisters-in-law, Caroline and Nita Mae Foster.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The body will lie in-state from 2pm until the service hour. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Steve Foster, Kent Foster, Terry Foster, Kevin Foster, Parker Foster and Pete Sosebee. Honorary escort to the family will include: Christopher & Jonathan Ledbetter, Josh Shook, Mitchell Foster, David Foster, Kyle Odom, Kermit (Butch) Foster, Kerry Foster, Kerry Foster, Kenny Foster, Clayton Foster and Michael & Mark Patterson. The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Saturday evening from 6 until 9 pm.
