The Fannin High School Rebels wrestling team held its annual “Senior Night” Ceremony to honor the outgoing senior class. The brief ceremony took place after an intrasquad scrimmage, and the USA Wrestling youth program participants were honored.
The day began with the USA Wrestling youth wrestlers being honored as Fannin’s “future state champions.” An intrasquad scrimmage was scheduled due after inclement weather led to the cancellation of the original night.
The green (home) team clinched a 30-21 victory over the red (away) team. The green team began the day hot, as Caleb Chancey’s three point minor victory sparked a streak of six straight wins for the green team, and a 30- lead.
Back to back pins by Sean and Blake Callihan led to 21 unanswered points from the red team and the 30-21 final score.
After the scrimmage Blake and Sean Callihan, Matt Burgess, Dakota Pierce, Ben Graham, Brandon King, and manager Lauren Hensley, the outgoing senior class members, were honored.
