As January comes to a close, Your Blue Ridge Community Theater has started the New Year in full gear. Our first ever Actor’s expo was a success, with all of the 2013 directors discussing this year’s upcoming plays and collecting names of new actors and volunteers.
The auditions for Rumors also generated a host of new faces around the theater. February will be another busy month with both our Main Stage and Children's Theater having productions.
Our Main Stage season will be beginning this year as we host the Tater Patch Players of Jasper, GA. They will be presenting their production of Driving Miss Daisy, a story about Miss Daisy, an Jewish widow, and her African American chauffeur, Hoke. Spanning 25 years , the play shows how division of race and ideology can be overcome and how friendships can form in the most unlikely of places.

The play runs from January 24 through February 3.
Starting on February 8, 2013 our Sunny D Children’s Theater will be presenting The Neverending Story. Based in the classic child’s book, it is the story of Bastian and Atreyu, two boys from separate worlds. Brought together by the pages of a magic book, the boys must risk everything and find the true meaning of the word faith in order to defeat the Nothing that threatens to engulf the kingdom of Fantasia. The play will run Friday thru Sunday for two weeks.
BRCT will also be holding acting classes. A four part Acting Class every Saturday in February. Classes will be lead by Kathy Simmons, who has directed numerous plays at BRCT including our 2012 productions of Sylvia and Over the River and Through the Woods. Attendance is required at all four classes. For costs and times please contact our box office at:
