JUST THE FACTS
An opinion by Ed Huber: In the early days of television Jack Webb played Sergeant Joe Friday, a fast talking Los Angeles police detective who wanted "Just the facts, ma'am"! So what are the facts?
As I think about that answer the November 2012 election comes to mind. What are the facts? Thanks to several of my friends and email partners I think I have the answer.
For the last four years the approval rating of these spurious interlopers called congress has teetered around 9 percent and the regnant president below 50 percent. Who knows what the real unemployment number is but it’s been consistently reported around 8 percent. The country is now 16 plus trillion in debt and climbing and Obama Care will soon offer “FREE” health care to millions. To call these people thieves would be an insult to all the folks behind bars today.
The 2012 election found 22 incumbent senators up for re-election and 373 incumbent house members as well as our Marxist Muslim president. Twenty-one of the 22 senators, 353 of the 373 house members and of course our Marxist Muslim President where re-elected and that’s a fact. So let’s see if I got it right. The voters of America re-elected 94 percent of the incumbents and our Marxist Muslim President who were running for re-election to an institution that has an approval rating of about 9 percent. It leaves no doubt, as an electorate, we are a nation of idiots. We’re now stuck with the useless, dysfunctional government that we deserve. Folks, you can’t fix stupid and those are the facts ma’am!
Here in TN we got Bob “Corkie” Corker back for another 6 years along with his partner in crime Lamar “Big Al” Alexander. So what was their first order of business? To give themselves a pay raise of course. Second order of business; to fix the fiscal cliff, (a fancy term for more taxes)! These hard working anathematic folks worked late into the night New Year’s Eve until their flummoxed brains couldn’t take any more but they got the job done and kept our country from plunging over the fiscal cliff didn’t they? What a great deal they got for us! Taxes are guaranteed to go up for the vast majority of Americans. Spending cuts will be postponed. Government is going to get bigger and so will the deficit. The Chinese government must be licking their chops. I wonder what they think will happen when we default on our loan to these foreign countries? Do they not remember what the Japanese did when we “irritated their urinary tract” Will it be Pearl Harbor all over again? Happy New Year!
