Open Arms officials set aside Monday, January 7th to celebrate their state approval and granted contract.
Open Arms of Blue Ridge established a goal to provide a safe haven for abused and neglected children. After years of hard work, planning and lots of fund raising, Open Arms has received an approved contract from the state of Georgia.
The Open Arms facility is a beautiful, spacious home equipped and licensed to house up to ten girls from hardship homes. The home staff will provide a number of services to assist the children in many ways ranging from homework assistance to coping and/or other life skills.
"We expect to have our first child by the end of the week"
said Open Arms founder Dianne Mallerine. This proves that a facility of this nature was desperately needed. Open Arms will serve Fannin, Gilmer, Union and Towns counties. FYN will continue to bring you the latest news updates regarding the opening of Open Arms' doors.
