Matthew 6:13 “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

O Lord God, you who do keep us by your grace in the hollow of your hand and nothing can pluck us out. We pray for power to overcome temptation. There is not a day that we are not tempted to think or do evil. Only one thing can keep us from entangling our lives in the webs of evil and that is Thy strength. Deliver us from all forms of evil. Help us to see evil for what it is even when it is present in the most deceiving way. When it looks attractive to us and when we are pressured to accept it, prevent us from doing so.

We claim your promise that you will not suffer us to be tempted above that which we are able: through our Lord Christ.
