The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Albert “Abb” Calvin Dilbeck of Blue Ridge who passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Heritage Health Care in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born on March 4, 1926 to the late Thomas Elijah and Lela Celina Pack Dilbeck. Mr. Dilbeck was retired from Tennessee Chemical Company as a miner. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a recipient of a purple heart. Mr. Dilbeck was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lotrell Eudene Jones Dilbeck.

Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Spence and Kathleen Dilbeck of Epworth, GA and Clyde and Irene Dilbeck of Blue Ridge, GA; numerous nephews; nieces and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 25, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Minister Dennis Morris officiating. Music will be by the congregation of Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Copper Ridge Memory Garden. Pallbearers will be Ed Hawkins, Lee Davis, Bruce Pack, Todd Dilbeck, Johnny Ritchie and Luther Mathis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
