“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
O God of might and mercy, love and longsuffering, we thank you for loving us when we were unlovely and did not love you in return. But now we do love you because we have seen your love for us in the One who was crucified on Calvary’s Cross. You love the sinner but hate his sin.
We pray your divine blessing upon our attempts to serve you today. Grant us understanding of the heart needs of those around us and of the burdens they must bear.

Forbid that we should be reluctant to get involved in the lives of those who need help. There is a strong tendency in our society to be withdrawn and impersonal.

You work through human personalities. If this person who seeks you now is longing for someone to care about him as a person and be interested in his spiritual needs, would you direct one of your servants to minister to this person in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.
