Mary Ann Humphrey, age 90, of McCaysville, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge. She was born on March 27, 1928 in Ducktown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill. She cared for her mother for many years and later gained her CNA License. She worked for many years with Fannin Regional Hospital and Amedisys Home Health, giving care to many. She enjoyed attending church and singing in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emin S. and Vera Braden Spargo; her husband of 63 years, Charles Frank Humphrey; and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Becky Pack of McCaysville, Angie and Jimmy Hughes of Epworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Karren Humphrey of Marietta, Al and Brenda Humphrey of Conyers; grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Pack, Jason Pack, Mark and Rhonda Pack, Andrew and Lindsey Humphrey, David and Katie Humphrey, Emily Kay Humphrey, Debbie and Brian Mott, Jennifer and Donnie Johnston, Lauren and Dirk Justice, Nathan and Emily Humphrey, and Elise Claire Humphrey; and great-grandchildren, Tyler (Iva), Dylan, Brady, Bryson, and Alex Pack.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 3:00 pm from the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Mrs. Humphrey will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the service hour of 3:00 pm. Music will be provided by the church choir. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Hughes, Michael Pack, Jason Pack, Mark Pack, Brady Pack, Bryson Pack, and Dylan Pack. Honorary pallbearers will be staff from the Pruitt Health Care of Blue Ridge. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
