City of Blue Ridge officials celebrate Georgia Cities Week

City of Blue Ridge officials announced the city will be celebrating “Georgia Cities Week” April 22-28. The city will be holding a variety of events throughout the week, including a coloring contest, essay contest and activities to clean up our community. The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “Cities in the Spotlight,” highlighting cities’ important role in the state’s history, economy and every-day activities of residents.

“We’re very proud of our city and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors,” said Mayor Donna Whitener. “Cities provide the services and infrastructure to help businesses grow, and set the stage for events where families and individuals can gather as a community.”

Please contact our City Clerk, Kelsey Ledford for information on how you can participate in this year’s Georgia Cities Week.Cities across Georgia will be celebrating Georgia Cities Week, sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), to showcase and celebrate cities and the many services they provide.

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 521 member cities.
