Ida Lou Bryant, age 88 of Turtletown TN passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bryant was born on January 7, 1929 in Copperhill, TN to the late Elbert and Matilda Stuart Allen. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bryant enjoyed gardening and working around her house. She was a member of the Word of God Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Bryant; daughter, Carolyn Bryant; brothers, Sam Allen, Wade Allen and Edd Allen and sisters, Oma Lee Watts, Mary Lee Stiles and Ethelene Prince.
Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Bill and Shirley Bryant; daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy and Daniel Adams, Elizabeth Spivey and Judy Stiles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Allen and Jimmy and Grace Allen; grandchildren, Ericka Stiles, Scott Bryant and Josh Spivey; great-grandchildren, Alex Spivey and Stran Bryant; nieces; nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Justin Payne officiating. Music was by Calla Mae Miller, Mary Mason and Ruby Payne. Pallbearers were Abe Taylor, Tommy Taylor, Harold Adams, Freddy Bell, Mickey McDougal and Rev. Bill Bryant. Honorary Pallbearers were Beauford Kidd, Fred Morrow, Steve Ledford and Charles Spivey. Interment followed in the Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Cemetery.
