3rd grade field trip to Glenn Springs Holdings

West Fannin Elem

Third graders at West Fannin recently participated in a STEM project with Glenn Springs Holdings. Students were asked to help with remediation of the Copper Basin area. Students researched plants and trees native to the area. They grew plants from seeds and propagated trees in the greenhouse. On May 9, students traveled to North Potato Creek Water Treatment Plant located at the Tennessee Mine Shaft to plant the native plants and trees. Students also learned how the water treatment system works and toured the Copper Basin Museum.
